Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Uchenna_Rodger_Ani-Okoye]Uchenna Rodger Ani-Okoye
There are many brides out there that choose to buy and design their very own flower arrangement, rather than hiring a specialist to do it for them. This is an excellent way for you to save money and also to ensure that you achieve the kind of result that you really want.
Although opting to design your own flower arrangement can add additional stress to the planning process of your wedding, help from others and coordinated planning will ensure that everything goes smoothly; one of the most important things that you should have when you have intentions of buying and designing your own flower arrangement is a viable backup plan, just incase things do not go as planned, in addition, you should also give yourself enough time to properly put everything together.
The best place for you to purchase the flowers for your wedding is at a wholesale market. The majority of the largest cities have these markets, but in most cases only authorised buyers are allowed to purchase from them. Make sure you all the required information beforehand, in order to prevent you turning up at the market a couple of days prior to the wedding only to find out you are not authorised to purchase anything from there. If you have plans of setting up your flower arrangement the day before the wedding, then you will need to get to the flower market at least a day before that time.
In order for you to get some excellent ideals on the various designs you can use for your wedding ceremony, there are tons of websites you can check out, which will provide you with the information along with the pictures.
Small towns in most cases will have their own farmers market that will be open at least twice every week. By visiting one of these markets and speaking to one of the growers, you should be able to arrange a delivery for the day prior to the wedding. Purchasing flowers from a flower market are considerably less than buying from your local established florists, but they are not as cheap as buying wholesale.
Visiting your local grocery store is another viable option for buying foliage and unarranged flowers, as well as the necessary flower arrangements. Many of these stores will have very talented flower arrangers who will be more than happy to work on the arrangement of the flowers for your wedding. In most cases you will be able to depend on them, and the prices that they charge are typically less than a wedding florist.

Bouquets, Arrangements and Fall Wedding Flowers

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Uchenna_Rodger_Ani-Okoye]Uchenna Rodger Ani-Okoye
The fall has become a very popular season for people to have their wedding, especially in the hotter parts of the world, where it would be impractical to have a summer wedding. One of the most important aspects of the wedding planning process is choosing the right flowers for the wedding.
The first thing that you should do when choosing flowers for your fall wedding, is deciding on the colours. Fall is a season that is associated with dim colours such as yellow, gold, earthy colours, copper or amber. But if you would like to go with something a little more flamboyant, then you could consider bright terracotta, or pumpkin orange or plum purple. The moment you have successfully decided on the colours for the flowers of your wedding, make sure that you can accompany these flowers with matching tables, ornaments, bows and seat covers.
Once you have been able to set everything up, the next thing for you to do will be to choose the flowers. There are a variety of flowers that bloom specifically in the fall, but you also have the option of going with flowers that are available all throughout the year such as: lilies, roses, orchids and calla lilies. The best thing about these flowers is that they last for long, and it's very easy for you to arrange them into bouquets of any cheap. However, make sure they are being sold at your local florists, and also be sure to check out the pricing, because when buying flowers out of their season, there is always that chance that prices will be very high.
For your fall wedding, there are a variety of fall flowers that you can choose such as: dahlias, chrysanthemum, hydrangea, marigolds, and sunflowers if you intend to get married in September and for October weddings aster.
Fall is also an ideal season for you to innovate. In addition to the various fall flowers, it's also possible for you to profit from the foliage, which is more than capable of enhancing your bouquets and centrepieces. Red, yellow and rusty leaves then to look very nice, especially if you are able to get nice shaped leaves that are dried out such as maple tree leaves or oak tree leaves. It's also possible for you to use dried fruit or berries.
You can also opt for an exotic fall wedding as a viable alternative, and choose from the bird of paradise and anthuriums, two create choices.

Booking a Band or Three to Play at Your Wedding

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Carl_S_Liver]Carl S Liver
Live bands for weddings come in all shapes and sizes; from a solo vocalist with pre-recorded backing tracks to a ten or twenty piece big-band. With so many different types of wedding bands for hire, deciding which you and your guests will appreciate the most can be something of a stab in the dark. You can however book more than one band or artist to play at your wedding, which will certainly add more variety than having just the one band performing at the night do. For example you could hire a harpist to perform before or after the ceremony, or both before and after if you want. And believe me when I say that Here Comes The Bride sounds far nicer when played on a harp than it does on a church organ. Alternatively a string quartet, Gregorian or Welsh male voice choir could add a unique element to the ceremony itself.
Harpists, string quartets and classical guitar players are popular choices as performers for the drinks reception and meal. As with the wedding ceremony itself, you don't really want anything too intrusive as your guests congratulate the bride and groom, mingle and settle down to the meal, so sticking to classical or folk inspired music is preferable to a live band with drums, bass and all that racket. When people are mingling, chatting or eating they want the music to reside in the background providing atmosphere, and not in the Russ Abbot sense of the word!
When it comes to the evening reception, you guests will be fed and watered and eager to let their hair down. This is when the bride and groom will be having their first dance as a married couple and in recent years, the first dance has become something of a phenomenon. Many couples are having dancing lessons in order to both impress and entertain their guests by recreating famous routines from films such as Dirty Dancing, Saturday Night Fever, Grease and even Michael Jackson's Thriller video. If this is your plan, then you need to make sure your wedding band can perform the song you're going to dance to, and they need to perform it well for maximum effect.
Once your first dance is over with, your guests can take to the floor and this is where live bands for weddings really have to prove their worth. Their repertoire needs to be up beat and enticing. They need to connect with the audience and this is where some live bands can falter. When booking the band, make sure they have experience performing at wedding receptions as it's very different to simply playing a gig at a local pub. Live bands for weddings are in a league of their own and finding the best you can get for the evening reception is essential for ensuring the best day of your life ends on a high note.

Classical Musicians Add Romance And Finesse To Any Wedding Reception

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Carl_S_Liver]Carl S Liver
Coming from a sizable family with almost twenty cousins and countless second cousins, I've attended numerous weddings over the last forty years. To be honest I always found weddings a little boring because they all seemed the same. After half an hour or so yawning through the religious ceremony, endless moments lurking outside the church followed by a meal in some venue or another and eventually attending the night do where the wedding DJ; usually my uncle, would play the same set of pop hits he's seemingly spent his entire life playing.
In recent years, however, I've seen a significant change in the entertainment laid on at the wedding receptions I've attended. And believe me, it's a change for the better. Yes the DJ does get the opportunity to dust off his vinyl, but only when the wedding band are taking a break, and much to my surprise, the wedding bands which are being booked have been of a very high standard.
The first time my eyes were opened regarding the types of bands for weddings people can hire was when a Gregorian choir filled the room with the most beautiful and ethereal sound I've ever heard. The harmonies which emerged from the five unamplified voices was both moving and heart warming and to this day, they remain one of the most memorable wedding bands I've had the pleasure to have heard.
More recently I attended a wedding where a classical guitarist performed a variety of popular classics as the daylight ebbed. Again this was unamplified, unintrusive, melodic and moving and his repertoire spanned from Bach to Bacharach. What surprised me was he even kept the youngsters happy by performing classical-esque arrangements of more modern compositions such as Oasis' 'Wonderwall' and Robbie William's 'Angels'. Later in the evening a more traditional wedding band performed a variety of soul and Motown hits which got everybody dancing; everybody except me that is. I prefer to listen rather than trying to work out which foot goes where.
Unfortunately none of my family are posh enough to even consider booking a string quartet or a harpist. To be honest the classical guitarist seemed a little too high brow for the audience (myself excepted of course). Yet what did impress me was the fact that they'd chosen something other than just a wedding DJ and thrown in some variety with the guitar player and, although the band were one of those run-of-the-mill wedding bands, they did perform flawlessly and got plenty of people dancing the night away.
